FOR THE RECORD... This is not an application where I inserted a photo. I actually pieced the photo Abbie provided and layered it until I got a cohesive look. It took a while for me to make this happen. You have to have a steady hand, and plenty of patience. Which a couple of times I almost lost it! LOL Once finished, I added a color technique using Photoshop.

My first submission to Abbie Shores April Edit This Challenge (2021).
I digitally stuck a shiny fork in the road and also it's shadow and added text from a Yogi Berra quote... "When you come to a fork in the road, take it". This quote is known along with others from Yogi Berra as "Yogi isms?"
Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra was an American professional baseball catcher, who later took on the roles of manager and coach. He played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball, all but the last for the New York Yankees. Wikipedia

The British back roads are charming this time of year. That's why I usually enjoy the long drive to the market to sell my apples. My family, really isn't into it, but it is what it is.
From my orchard to the market place, the distance is quite far, especially when you drive on back roads. But its often worth it, I made a few bucks, pick up supplies and get to look at the countryside. All I hope is that most of the apples stay in the truck this time, they tend to roll out of the basket. But as I always say, follow the trail of apples, and you will find me.

My 3rd submission to Abbie Shores April 2021 Edit This Challenge.
I added a manhole with the cover partially off and creepy arms reaching out as a female bicyclist passes by. I added shadows for all the additions and a few filters from ON1 software to tie it all together with a subtle vignette and soft glow.

What amazing edits!

Thanks Abbie for your encouraging remarks throughout the submission period. It really does help with motivation. (The hands ARE creepy, but that's what was intended and I know you secretly love it! LOL)

These are always so fun to look at.
@Mike your stories regarding your pictures are always fascinating. Have you ever written a book? If not, you should.

books take a lot of time, you need pictures to go with them etc. i create short paragraphs that more or less make sense.

I've been exploring the rotation of the image, in the last few challenges.
This time the road becomes a seawall. With the actual wall becoming a water level walkway.
I'm now debating with myself in how much I want to add (kid fishing, stairway down to walkway, use of existing trees in other forms, etc.) and how much I want to refine this Work in Progress rough digital "Sketch"
I'm always having the belief that: Less is More.

Runners Half Marathon. My husband runs, so lots of runner's images around that we have. I choose the half marathon, because at 13.1 miles easier for many more people to run than the full marathon at 26.2 miles. I widened the road, put in trees, added a START sign and the people running, then digitally painted the image.

Coming in later this time but always fun to do!
I edited in a grassy meadow with wild tulips interspersed and a cow resting among them. I removed the left wall and continued the trees to the grass and removed the ending wall continuing the sky down to the grass as well. So the cow is not restricted by any walls, just the old wall on the right that was there for hundreds of years.

I got this revised entry, with only a minute to spare (2:28 PM EDST), struggling to get the water acceptable.
And knowing that I had other chores that had to be done, IMMEDIATELY.
Now back, breathing a bit easier, here is that entry:
I've been enjoying my self imposed challenges of seeing what I can do with a rotated image.

Too late for the contest deadline, but here is my edit:
Jacaranda LaneThis is my digital painting of a country lane with jacaranda trees blooming on both sides. I used the EDIT THIS APRIL 2021 image from Abbie Shores. I love the perspective and blank canvas. The trees were mostly bare from winter and the grassy areas were bare. I’ve been wanting to do a similar painting for a while and Abbie gave me the inspiration, thank you.

Very low votes which is disappointing. We need to really boost each other these days and votes go a long way!
However, we have a winner!!

I DID THE SAME THING!! I was in the process of editing and when I went to post to my gallery to add it to the contest, it was no longer taking submissions but it was so fun to try. So i didn't even post it to my account :)

I voted. I think the problem is that the only people that vote are mostly in the contest.

Debra,
I remember clearly, this delightful piece of yours, that won first place in an earlier Edit This Challenge about a year ago.
It is truly lovely
And I expect to see more WINNING works of art, from your particular EYE MIND & HAND in future challenges
Edit:
Debra, I see now that you revised your posting
But what I've said above, still stands
