This room has it all! From the mid century aqua couch, to the bookcase full of book on mid century design, to the Eames House Bird by Vitra. And don't forget the George Nelson ball clock! The four black cats that live here think the room is divine.

Some of you are familiar with my Tabletop Cats. I'm creating a new series called Tabletop Flowers. This design is the second in the series, featuring lovely purple flowers with orange centers, in a peach bowl against a bright yellow background. Sure to make you happy!
This acrylic painting was my Day 66 entry in the 100 day challenge I'm participating in at Fineartamerica with other artists. We aim to create one new piece of art a day for 100 consecutive days. I used acrylic paint and ink on an 8" X 10" canvas panel.

Beautiful morning on location. Looked like everything was back to normal. Every time I feel lost to choose a boat to paint. Took a while to find one on the pier. Set up my painting station, but it was not early any longer. Felt hot in the sun, and used my Plein Air umbrella. People passing by complemented my work. Even a group of school boys kept saying "Bravo! "Thanks for all the encouragement. Suddenly it became very windy, first it blew my umbrella down, I screwed it down a couple of times. But I stood on the pier with nothing to block the strong wind. So I used my arm to hold my umbrella steady. Then the wind kept blowing little items off my painting station, like testing paper, small brush etc.. Almost finished my painting, I tried very hard to draw lines, but my station was shaking in the wind. Had to pack and leave. Finished the rest details at home. - March 30 2021

John 19:30 says, "When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit."
The Greek word translated “it is finished” is tetelestai, an accounting term meaning paid in full.
Jesus is saying in “It is finished” that the debt owed by man to his Creator on account of Adam’s sin is finally and forever dealt with. Jesus is saying not only does He take away man’s sin, but now He removes it as far as the east is from the west.
This mixed media using watercolor painted sheets, digitally enhanced, was my Day 67 entry in the 100 day challenge I'm participating in at Fineartamerica with other artists. We aim to create one new piece of art a day for 100 consecutive days.

One of my recent favorite subjects - inspired by the short film The Red Balloon. In this series I have The Red Balloons and also purple, yellow and now white. There seems to be nothing as joyful as balloon when you feel a little down in the dumps.

My signature black cat sits in his orange Arne Jacobsen egg chair. He is enjoying his new rooster artwork. He loves the bold colors and the black outlines. He thought about getting a real rooster once, but then he heard one go, "COCK A DOODLE DOO!" and decided a print would be much quieter.

Watercolor Asian art featuring a house tucked away in a mountainous region somewhere in China. Calm, muted colors give a relaxed feeling. When I was a teenager I decorated my bedroom with Asian accents, including bamboo scrolls with scenes very similar to this. I was fascinated that the artist was able to express so much with mostly suggestive line drawings. I found the muted colors were very soothing, and beautiful. I still love Asian art. Wish I had kept those scrolls.

Didn't paint outdoors for two weeks, really missed it. Went to Half Moon Bay, it was beautiful and warm. Painted a yellow mustard flower field at the edge of a major noisy road, it was still muddy after days of rain. Many people stopped by taking photos of the gorgeous yellow flowers. After my first painting done, I really wanted to see and paint boats, I missed painting them very much. Over the years, I have taken countless photos of the boats at Johnson Pier, and can't even remember how many times I've painted at this location, many fishing boats I recognize over the years. Looked like the local business was doing OK. Differently, I found a good spot on the deck, and set up my work station. The deck was narrow, I had to keep reminding myself not to backup, only one step and I could fall into the sea. A sea lion swam around nearby me, only about five meters away. Loved all the dramatic clouds, and happy to see all the fishermen selling crabs. Bought one as a reward for finishing my second painting. Tired but productive... (Feb. 3 2021)

Oxymoron title for sure. I mean, if you have the blues you do not feel joy. But Blues in this case refers to the color blue, and it comes in so many hues and shades which I find joyful, especially when applied to circles. I love math! I was that weird kid in high school who took advanced math as an elective. Circles are all about math, so of course they fascinate me. Did you know you can always place six circles around one if you make them all the same size? Isn't that fascinating?
This abstract, celebrating both the various shades of blues and circles, was my Day 95 entry in the 100 day challenge I'm participating in at Fineartamerica with other artists. We aim to create one new piece of art a day for 100 consecutive days. It was hand painted using acrylic paints on an art board.
