Union Falls is the second highest waterfall in Yellowstone, but is not accessible by road, so few visitors get to see it.

Located in The Adirondacks in New York, Ausable Chasm is home to Rainbow Falls.

Each year over 8 million visitors from all over the world come to this area on the border between Canada and the United States. There are actually three waterfalls, the American, Bridal Veil and the Canadian or Horseshoe Falls which are collectively known as Niagara Falls. Many say that the best place to view the falls is from the Canadian side where you can see them all from a distant point of view. But I found a fantastic view from one of the lookout points in New York's Niagara Falls State Park. From here I saw the beautiful Niagara River Gorge and the Rainbow Bridge crossing into Canada. I was so close that I could hear the roar, feel the mist and the amazing power of nature as millions of gallons of water rushed ... Over The Edge.

Burney Falls at MacArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park in northern California. The park brochure says "while not the highest waterfall in Callifornia, it may be the most beautiful." Burney Falls is a spectacular 129 ft. waterfall where over 100 million gallons per day of spring water falls into Burney Creek. Since most of the water comes from underground springs, the flow stays relatively constant year-round. Approximately halfway between Mount Lassen and Mount Shasta, this park is a very popular stop along the Volcanic Legacy National Scenic Byway. Burney Falls was named after pioneer settler Samuel Burney who lived in the area in the 1850s. The park is the second oldest state park in California and ecompasses 910 acres. Beautiful Buttermilk Falls can be found in Lehigh Gorge State Park in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. This interesting falls is comprised of different levels and makes a final small drop before it joins the Lehigh River. It is easily accessible by walking or biking a short way from the parking area. The park is about 20 minutes from the quaint tourist town of Jim Thorpe.

"Helmcken Falls" by Patti Deters. The fourth largest waterfall in Canada, Helmcken Falls is located in British Columbia and is 463 feet as measured by a straight drop from top to bottom. Surrounded by red rock cliffs, this waterfall is one of the most beautiful in all of North America. From the view path above the falls, you can get a wonderfully scenic view of the falls and surrounding pine trees, forest, red cliffs, lower cascade and river as well as the upper forest layer against the blue sky with clouds. The High Falls Conservation Area, a 47-acre property located in the village of Philmont, with access from the town of Claverack, is owned and managed by the Columbia Land Conservancy. High Falls, Columbia County's highest waterfall, cascades 150 feet before culminating in a large pool. The water flows northwest until eventually reaching the Hudson River.

The beautiful Onomea Waterfalls located inside the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Located in the Two Medicine Lake area of Glacier National Park, Running Eagle Falls, also known as Trick Falls, is an unusual waterfall. The top tier of the falls comes from a creek spilling over the rock ledge, while the bottom tier flows from an underground cave. Later in the year, the upper fall dries up, leaving only the lower fall flowing. Running Eagle Falls is named for a warrior woman of the Blackfeet Nation who is said to have gone on a vision quest near the falls. It is considered a sacred site by the tribe. Rising Wolf Mountain is the backdrop to this beautiful scene.
