What do you have to offer? There is nothing in your gallery at the moment.

All kinds of Help information by hitting the HELP TAB. https://fineartamerica.com/discussions.html?tab=permanentdiscussions

When you load up your images, take special interest in the keywords. Use as many as are pertinent to the image as possible so that you can be found in the search here at FAA. Also, give a good and interesting Description so that those searching in Google will want to give it an open.

You can get the ball rolling by uploading your images. I don't see any images. Where is your upload?

best to read the forum it is asked 1-2 times a day.

but first thing -- start with uploading images.

you have none...

now if this is a vampire issue, and you can't be seen in a mirror, i suggest a heavy coat of powder.
if you are a ghost and you can't be seen, then i suggest a bed sheet. that's what the pro's use.

if you are in a solid form, and you blend into the background, wear an outrageous shirt and show them your fozzy bear routine. that will help get you noticed.

Phillip,

Welcome!

WELLLL, need to have some images to be "seen", good ones, and as many as you have. Need good titles, keywords, and descriptions. Need a good Bio, which helps with search results somehow. I think the minimum is 10 images even to just show up in any searches.

THEN, you can start to "market" your stuff to others that don't know you, like on FB, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and any others.

This is more of a business here than just another site to post images to family and friends. And you need to treat it as such and the more you treat it as a business, the better you'll do here. FAA does NOTHING for artists here, it's ALL UP TO THE ARTIST themselves! All FAA does is provide a "shelf" in a huge warehouse and it's UP TO YOU to get YOUR customers to YOUR SHELF and ONLY your shelf!

Here's a good place to start, FAQ's

Good Luck,

I tried twice already but nothing seems to be happening

I joined eight days ago, and have entered some contests, joined some groups, am hosting a contest, and have tried to put up a new image every day (yeah, I missed two). There is a January artwork thread that I've posted a couple recent images in. Just jump in and start swimming.

edit: I can see one image, your lion that you are also using as avatar.

I see you uploaded 2 of the same images. You have no pricing for it

Phillip,

You need to start thinking about what people are seeing. You have no description to speak of... no keywords... and you have no introduction to yourself (Biography).

Slow down and get the lay of the land. If you learn how to do it better from the very get go it will save you lots of time and backtracking later on. You've been given links and areas that have discussions from people who have been there and done that.

But if you'd rather blunder through things first... it just leaves it for others to continue to be in a better position.

Make a choice. Follow the Jungle Guide... or stumble into the jungle on your own.

i see the same lion twice.
you need to add prices, a description, and keywords.

you will need to be here for a week and have at least 10 things to be in the search.

if you only have that one drawing, you won't get that far.

Fine Art America. Not Fineart America. Just so you know for any advertising

Here's my advice.

You need to take a serious look at my selling guides (below) and forget about everything else until you get a lot of good images uploaded and start getting seen OUTSIDE of FAA. Read The 25-75 Rule For New Members and work that until you have several hundred images uploaded. Forget contests, likes, followers, favorites, groups, visitors, and views, and everything else on the FAA/Pixels site itself until you have established a decent presence here and you have established a workable advertising plan that will get you seen OUTSIDE OF FAA.

My suggestion is to not get all bogged down in all the things that are only seen on the FAA/Pixels sites like Groups, Contests, Likes, Followers, and Comments. Focus mostly on things that get your work seen outside of FAA. That is where sales are going to come from.

There are groups and people worth connecting to Phillip. Get some art going first... and then fill in the blanks.

Always remember what opinions are like. There are plenty of them to go around of them here. Some are like the golden elixir's! Some are like Icarus' wings :-)

Good Fortunes to you.

HI Phillip - Whomever said slow down - they are right. You can't make it a race for sales as much as you might want to. I like the lion - do more art.

Seriously if you need extra money right now, get a part time somewhere, BUT continue to draw and upload your art! Read all what is being offered to read and make more art. By the looks of the lion you are not wasting time - just being too impatient. Sales don't normally happen that fast.

so many think that selling art is a great way to make a quick buck. but its not. its takes a long time to get established, you need a large amount of work. imagine walking into a store and seeing just 1 single item. you won't hold their attention for long.

a lot of people come here because they made something, showed it to a friend and they are like - dude, you can probably sell that. but they never offer to buy it themselves. i think a lot of people get their start selling because of that. but those same people don't last long because you have to make things people want, and advertise it to those people. and it can't just be a single item.

the basic advice is --

1. make 30 more things.
2. each item should have a consistent style but many different themes.
3. everything needs prices, keywords and good descriptions.
4. advertise.
5. wait a year or two, it can take a long time before you are seen well enough to sell. it may be less than that though. things i make now may not sell for a year or more. so i keep making more and more stuff. you can't be a one hit wonder, you need to fill the store with many items, just don't fill them with random things like some people do. that won't help you (in case you were thinking that).

contests might help - but only if it fits the thing you sent. like if its about lions, wild life, drawings etc then sure. anything else, probably not. also don't depend on contests. and without prices, it won't matter if you are seen anyway.

"How To Get Seen..?" is the million dollar question, Phillip. And I do mean million dollar.

Everyone... performers, writers, artists of any kind, Coca Cola, Disney... They are all asking the same question.

It is the answer everyone is looking for.

The good news is: You started out by asking the right question. Good Luck! I hope you find it.
