With a layer of snow covering his nose, a whitetail deer buck stares at me and the camera. A snowstorm gathering on his fur and antlers. Snowflakes falling around him. Trees and ground becoming covered in white.

Goals for the new year; one of my goals is to play more with using the digital art editing features in my editing program. Some of my goals are to get out more and photograph landscapes and nature. For this image I used my old travel photographs and made letters out of them as if I cut them out of the photo (hence the uneven lines), spelling the word “Travel”.
Some of my goals are to get out more and photograph landscapes and nature, also to pick up the paint brush more often and paint. For this image I used my photographs of mountains and the sea, adding a camera and paintbrushes, then applying a pop art type style

In Colorado a few years back while visiting my daughter, south of Denver, we got a nice snowfall during the night. I went out in the morning to look for interesting photo ops and I saw this this Colorado Blue Spruce Pine tree.
Last winter I was out walking around the open fields near me as we don’t get much snow in our parts of Texas. I was so excited to see a female White-tailed deer trotting through the treed area at the edge of the field, as the snow fell gently.

This pretty little Male House Finch landed on a tree branch out where I was bird watching. This is a bit of a back view of the bird showing the color and pattern of its feathers.
It is nice to be able to see the birds more easily in the winter time because the tree branches are bare.

This pretty female Northern Cardinal landed on a branch nearby where I was out birdwatching near a stand of trees at the edge of a field. It looks to me like she is giving me a profile view of her ‘hair-do’.
This pretty red-headed woodpecker was climbing up the tree trunk of an old oak tree. I was out bird watching at the edge of a field where a small forest of oak trees and other trees grow.
These two sweet little Dark-Eyed Junco birds were sitting on tree branches opposite each other and to me it looks like almost a mirror image of them.

Portrait of a Wonga Pigeon on the forest floor in the rainforest. Wonga Pigeons are large, plump pigeons with a small head. They are grey with a white forehead, a white V on their chest and distinct black markings on their white underparts. They also have black lores (this is the area between the eye and the bill). They wander around on the forest floor, foraging for fruits, seeds and the occasional insect. They are quite pretty but very shy, elusive birds; more often heard then seen. Their call is a penetrating, repetitive ‘woo-woo-woo….’.
The Wonga Pigeon is found in dense coastal forests and rainforests along the east coast of Australia, from south-eastern Queensland to Gippsland, Victoria. Taken in south east Queensland, Australia.

Morans Falls at Lamington National Park come gushing down after a good period of rain in the area. The 80 metre drop makes for a good thundering noise when this plunge waterfall finds its way down into Morans Creek Gorge. Walking tracks in the Green Mountains section of Lamington National park take you to spectacular views of the falls and gorge at the lookouts.

A hill at Downs Park in Pasadena, Maryland. I had done an Autumn capture and decided at that time, I'd come back if it snowed this Winter. I darkened three new fence posts so they would match the other older ones. A family was using the hill to slide down during this 1st snowfall of the Winter.
Two wide-angle images were digitally stitched together to form this pano. I also gave it a white border and white vignette to enhance the Winter atmosphere. (1-31-21).

A snow-covered trail at Downs Park in Pasadena, Maryland. I digitally enhanced the falling snow and added a cardinal on a branch at the left that I had photographed previously.
