Description
Santa Cruz, California, USA - Seen as we walked along West Cliff Drive, which hugs the Pacific Ocean shoreline between Natural Bridges State Park and the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum. Wave action and subsequent erosion is slowly forming a sea cave. Much of the top of the cliffs is covered by ice plant, a succulent, seen here in the foreground.

Many thanks, Rick! I did get a more benign form of erosion - I don't have the heart to take pictures of apartment buildings with erosion going right to the back door and things like that.

I see the eye of a photographer here...this is an image of something seen but not observed by most people. A wonderful image.

Thank you very much, Lesley! Erosion from powerful waves is a constant along the coast, and sometimes people lose houses to it.

A good shot of this section of coastline Martha....it shows just how powerful the sea can be,
