The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Love this piece for our Lake house. It looks great, however the top two corners were bent forward and cannot get them right. Depending on the light, sometimes you don't notice, but still very disappointing for the price.
