Description
This is a view of tall palm trees along the bank of the Myakka River in Myakka River State Park. Would you like to sit here and enjoy this view of Old Florida? Or go fishing? It's like going back in time. I often see people kyaking down the river. On the other side of the river there are usually a couple very large alligators and water birds. Myakka River State Park is one of the largest and oldest parks here in Florida with 37,000 acres at the Myakka River near Sarasota, Bradenton, and Myakka City. The park is known for its wildlife and alligators and its boardwalk into the river which is good for birding. Myakka River State Park is a beautiful area full of large oak trees. I edited this image in black and white from the inspiration of local photographer Clyde Butcher who has photographed the natural beauty of this park and the Everglades in Florida.
