Joy and freedom abound in the sunset surf, as a young woman raises her arms toward the sunset on the Pacific Coast.

Ocean Breeze invites the viewer to join this young woman on the beach and glorify in the warmth of the setting sun, the coolness of the afternoon breeze, the sound of the surf at our feet, and the incredible color that is in the clouds, the sand, and the water.

Is the young woman worshiping? Or is she simply breaking out into a physical song of joy, exuberant over her youth, her strength, the future ahead, and the sheer awesomeness of being alive?

Ocean Breeze, like all fine art representational paintings, tells a story, and the story that it tells is largely up to the viewer who sees the painting. As the artist, Steve Henderson created the work with a story and meaning in mind, but because truth embraces that which is good and right and honorable, the story is not limited to what is in the artist’s mind, or what flows from the paint in his brush.

I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 18 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
