There is some pixelization, presumably because it is enlarged to that degree. Very nicely stretched canvas, and sturdy. My chief complaint is the focus. Top part is in good focus, lower is not--as though it was imaged at an angle. This is distracting up close, but not noticeable at 10+ feet. Too bad. Otherwise would have been excellent

Print was delivered very welled packaged. It is just what we wanted to be used as a gift this Christmas. We liked the nostalgia of the picture.

This print's gorgeous, but the picture's off-center, see? There's a bigger white space at the top than the bottom.

I.love the artists style and colours. The package was well wrapped and was delivered quickly. The price was reasonable but a little bit high.

I love this canvas print. I think it really captures the look and vibe of the original piece of art. It inspired me to buy more art from fine art america.
Artist's Description
LightShed is a 2004 sculpture by Liz Magor, located on the seawall by the Coal Harbour Marina, in Vancouver.
The design is based on the old boatsheds which used to line the shoreline, before the Coal Harbour area turned residential. Although it's designed to look like it's made from wood, the entire structure is actually made from cast aluminium.
I've been waiting for a cloudy day to photograph this with an extra-long exposure, and today there was a nice level of variation in the brightness of the clouds, and for added benefit, the wind was blowing along the length of the sculpture. It was an extremely humid day, and as I started to take this shot, some small drops of rain landed on the filter, but fortunately that was all that fell, and they soon evaporated.
This is a 9 minute exposure at ISO 100, f/16. To get this length of exposure I used a total of 13 stops of filtration.
About Alexis Birkill

Born in the UK, I moved to Vancouver, BC in 2011. My career in photography has grown from a long-held passion for capturing the beauty of the world, aided on the technical side by my background as a software developer. I specialise in fine art photography of landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes in and around the Pacific Northwest, with work exhibited internationally. Many of my photographs feature the beautiful city of Vancouver, but as well as capturing its iconic cityscapes, I can often be found exploring the BC and Washington coastline for new photographic opportunities, as well as developing my portfolio of night sky photographs featuring the Milky Way and the Aurora Borealis.
