I returned this particular cover, as I found a Saul Steinberg cover that better served the purpose of creating a Christmas, New Year, and birthday gift for a friend who lived in NY and relocated to San Francisco. The New Yorker has provided a wonderful array of covers over the 60+ years the magazine has been in my home. Edna Eicke's cover was produced prior to my birth in 1947, and it is part of The New Yorkers' great cover legacy.

Absolutely love the print. It is one of my favorite locations. In fact I have a photo I took 7 years ago in that very spot. I received my order quick and in great condition.

Really disappointed in how the artwork arrived. It was rolled too loosely and placed in a flimsy triangular carton that was too large. The artwork was wrinkled and cracked. This was meant as a housewarming gift for a friend. I did what I could to straighten out the paper. My suggestion is to use more expensive and sturdier tubes that UPS and FedEx can't crush as easily.

The title “Denying Fragility” is of course a bit of a wordplay, and the desert can be denying in multiple ways: as a habitat for humans, or from the perspective of beauty. As beautiful a landscape as it is to some, not everyone can see and appreciate this beauty. But it’s also a fragile ecosystem, with soils that cannot store what little precipitation there is and extremes not just in temperatures but weather in general, from blasting winds to thunderstorms with flash flooding.
And yet, we humans continue to deny granting the desert this fragility, accepting it. Instead, we’re bulldozing thousands of acres of sensitive habitat for yet more abominations of utility-scale “green” energy power plants like Ivanpah, add myriads of rows of solar panels that could just as easily sit of residential rooftops (which are already connected to the electrical grid anyway), erect b...
