The artist is my son and is very talented. In high school he was accepted by Chicago Art Institute but couldn’t afford the tuition. He graduated from Fredonia State University with a Fine Art degree.

Constructed between 70 and 80 AD under the Emperor Vespasian and his son Titus, it stands as the largest amphitheater ever built, capable of seating over 50,000 spectators. Hosting gladiatorial contests, animal hunts, and other public spectacles, it embodied the entertainment culture of the Roman Empire for centuries. Its innovative design featured a complex system of ramps, trapdoors, and pulleys, facilitating the swift movement of animals and performers onto the arena floor. Despite enduring centuries of natural disasters, neglect, and pillaging, the Colosseum remains a testament to Roman ingenuity and continues to captivate visitors from around the globe with its grandeur and historical significance.

I really like this photograph of the Colosseum. The way the light is shining on it makes it look almost magical. The colors are also very well-chosen, and they really help to bring out the details of the structure. I also like the way Dave has captured the scale of the Colosseum. It is truly an impressive sight, and this photograph does a great job of conveying that.
