Description
A winter night scene of Historic Moravian buildings on Church St. in Bethlehem Pa., also known as Christmas city USA. And also designated a World Heritage Site. Brethrens House (The Stone structure), was used as a hospital and a place to entertain George Washington during the revolution in 1782. The large tree 1/3 from the left in the photograph, was around in George Washington's time. About 10 years after this exposure It had to be cut down do to deterioration.
This 35mm long exposure was also my very first Landmark photograph that I sold. It was a 20x30 print that was mounted and framed and purchased back in 1991.
The negative was recently rescanned and resampled with newer equipment and software for a better upload.
The famous tree being forever gone is the reason for being in my "Never Again" collection.
