Description
Bamboo Cathedral is in the Tucker Valley in Chaguaramas on the Caribbean island of Trinidad. Tall bamboo stalks line both sides of the pathway and stretch up high above your head. The top of the bamboo stalks bend towards each other creating a natural archway which is reminiscent of those found in cathedrals.
Several watercolours by Michael Jean Cazabon, Trinidad’s great nineteenth century artist were painted at this location and it is now known as Cazabon Trail.
It is an ideal location to take a walk, bike ride or hike. The bamboo stalks sway and creak, tropical birds sing, butterflies are in abundance fluttering from bloom to bloom. Red howler monkeys can also be heard and seen jumping and swinging from the bamboo stalks and branches.
