Contest Rules

Genuine Freedom -- For a Gift Certificate Prize This contest is a bit different from the traditional, so please take time to read the guidelines. Sorry for the capitals, but ONLY THOSE ENTRIES THAT FOLLOW STEPS 1 THROUGH 3 WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE GIFT CERTIFICATE PRIZE.

1) Join the contest the way you normally do, by clicking on the link that says, 'Click here to submit your artwork to the contest.' Choose one of your works that embodies the sense of freedom – genuine freedom. This will go in the Images section.

2) Now, click on the Discussion tab for the contest. Click on the topic, Genuine Freedom, and add your reply, which will consist of two things -- your image again, and some writing. In the Post Reply box, paste the embedded code for the artwork you entered (on your artwork page, you’ll find this under the Description box). This is your image.

3) Below your image, in as many or few words as you like, give your thoughts on the question: “What does it look like to live free in a society that says it is free?” This is the writing. When you are done, click the Post Reply button. This is your entry to the contest, and it is from this Discussion page that the winners will be selected. I have started the first reply with a sample of what I am looking for.

4) The jury for this contest consists of me (the painter) and my wife Carolyn, (the writer). We will be looking for the best integration of image and the thoughts on the question. Both are necessary to be considered for the prize. Please don’t fret about your writing style – words from the heart transcend style.

5) The First Place Winner will receive a $35 Gift Certificate, good for purchase at my site, SteveHendersonCollections.com (https://2-steve-henderson.pixels.com/).

6) The Second Place Winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to Steve Henderson Collections. These are Gift Certificates, not coupon codes, so you will receive the full amount off your purchase, not just the amount of the artist’s mark-up.
